The Victorian Environmental Assessment Council was established under the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council Act 2001 to provide independent and strategic advice to the Government of Victoria on matters relating to the protection and ecologically sustainable management of the environment and natural resources of Victoria's public land.

What's New
Completion dates for investigations extended
The Minister for Environment and Climate Change has extended the timeframes for VEAC to complete its two current investigations. The completion date for the Remnant Native Vegetation Investigation is now March 2011 and for the Metropolitan Melbourne Investigation is now May 2011.
