Overview

The report text has been edited to incorporate government decisions on the recommendations made by Orders in Council dated 4 May 1982, 22 June 1982, 24 August 1982 and 26 June 1984, and subsequent formal amendments.

The recommendations are grouped under major headings, such as Parks, Reference Areas, Wildlife, Historic Areas, Bushland Reserves and so on. Key recommendations are for Kara Kara State Park, Kooyoora/Melville Caves State Park, Kamarooka State Park and Whipstick State Park.

Note that recommendations for much of the North Central Area have been replaced by those in ECC's Box-Ironbark Forests & Woodlands Investigation Final Report (2001), except between Glenorchy and Cope Cope, the southern Pyrenees, and around Clunes, Corop and Dingee. Some of the area was also subsequently covered by VEAC’s Central West Investigation (2019).
